UGro coco fibre, extracted from the outermost shell of the coconut, is a growing medium that can be used as an alternative option to the more traditional substrates. UGro plantations are located far from the Indian coast, in a salt-free environment, ensuring maximum quality by avoiding any contact with saltwater. This is how we can guarantee a low EC level in all our products.

Compared to other traditional substrates, UGro has some excellent water retention and airing properties that help the root system and the plant to grow faster.

UGro is free of pathogens, odours, stones, roots and other impurities. Being a sustainable and biodegradable organic matter makes it having natural trichodermas, a microorganism that fights root rot and stimulates the growth of your plant. And because it is not treated with steam, its natural characteristics are not altered.

Two structures. Only one quality.

UGro offers two types of structures, UGro Standard and UGro Mix3, created for all types of cultures and without any variation in its quality. Both structures have a low CE level and a buffer effect that helps achieve an optimal absorption while keeping the pH stable.

UGro Standard

  • Product made of coco peat in small particles with a low percentage of fibres, so it has excellent water and ambient air retentions.
  • Lower watering frequency than the Mix3, due to a better water retention and less drainage.
  • Its volumetric performance is very high. 1kg of substrate can produce up to 15 litres of hydrated coco.
  • Recommended for short-term/seasonal crops, such as tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers.

UGro Mix3

  • Product made of 40% of coco peat, 30% of 10cm long fibres and 30% of chips of a maximum size of 1 inch, therefore this substrate has a lower water retention but a greater air retention, leading to a better root respiration.
  • Higher watering frequency than the Standard, due to a better drainage and less water retention.
  • Its volumetric performance is lower than the Standard’s one. 1kg of substrate can only produce as much as 13 litres of hydrated coco.
  • It has a long lifespan and it can be reuse for a greater amount of cultures.
  • Recommended for long-term/permanent crops, such as gerbera or roses.
